Configure Basic Security Hardening for Windows 10 Laptop

Firewall

1. Go to Start then Firewall and Network Protection

2.  Click the Turn on button for the Domain network, Private network, and Public network

3.  Validate by going to Start then select Windows Defender Firewall

4.  Windows Defender Firewall state for both Private and Public networks should be On

Full Disk Encryption

1. Go to Start then Control Panel

2.  Select System and Security

3. Go to BitLocker Drive Encryption then click Manage BitLocker

4.  Turn On BitLocker then select Save to a file 

5.  Copy the BitLocker Recovery then record it to the internal tracker

6.  Important: Delete the saved file from the computer

Computer Name

1.  Go to Start then Settings

2. From Settings select System then scroll down to About

3.  Click Rename this PC

• Rename the Computer name into this format : WIN-<SerialNumber>
• Example : WIN-PF47MSZT
