A guide on how to configure basic Security Hardening to laptops running macOS. Note that this is dependent to client's requirements. Below is specific for Xendit.
Configure Basic Security Hardening for macOS Ventura and later
Click Apple icon then go to “System Settings” and select “Privacy & Security”
Scroll down and click Advanced button. Turn on "Log out automatically after inactivity", then input 5 minutes under "Log out after" field, click Done.
Look for FileVault then turn on the FileVault button. Input admin password when prompted. Choose “Create a recovery key and do not use my iCloud account” and save the 16-digits of recovery key the Device Setup Tracker. Make sure this information is correctly recorded.
5. Go to Network, select Firewall then enable the Firewall button.
6. Go General, select Sharing, scroll down to Local hostname then click Edit button. Provide the computer name referring to these rules, then Click OK button.
Computer Name : <Laptop Type>-<Serial Number>
Laptop type : Macbook Pro → MBP
Macbook Air → MBA
Windows → WIN
Example : MBP-FVFCC344L410
Configure Basic Security Hardening for macOS Monterey and older
Go to “System Preferences” and select “Security & Privacy”
General Tab : confirm that checklist for “Require Password 5 minutes after sleep or screensaver begins”
Look for FileVault then turn on the FileVault button. Input admin password when prompted. Choose “Create a recovery key and do not use my iCloud account” and save the 16-digits of recovery key the Device Setup Tracker. Make sure this information is correctly recorded.
Firewall tab: make sure and confirm to enable the Firewall button
Go to system preferences > Sharing and provide the computer name referring to this rules
Computer Name : <Laptop Type>-<Serial Number>
Laptop type : Macbook Pro → MBP
Macbook Air → MBA
Windows → WIN
Example : MBP-FVFCC344L410
