A guide in setting up MacBook laptop. Some steps may vary depending on client’s requirements like the admin and user accounts to be created. It is important for clients to create an admin account as backdoor access aside from the user account, this will be useful in resetting the device.
Setup your MacBook:
Turn the MacBook on by opening the lid or pressing the Start button.
Set country or region: This sets the language and time zone for your Mac.
Set the Written and Spoken Languages according to the user location, click Continue.
Skip Accessibility options by selecting Not Now, user can set this up later on.
Connect to a Wi-Fi network: Choose the network and enter a password then click Continue.
Accept Data & Privacy by clicking Continue.
Transfer information: Since we’re setting up a new computer, click Not Now in the Migration Assistant window.
Skip Apple ID sign in by clicking Set Up Later, this can be done by the user later on.
Accept Terms and Conditions by clicking Agree.
Create a Computer Account by filling out the required information. In setting up Account Name and Password, check for client’s requirements or use a password generator. Ensure that credentials are securely recorded for client and Esevel support’s reference.
Tick Enable Location Services on this Mac, click Continue.
Tick the boxes under Analytics then click Continue.
Skip Screen Time configuration by clicking Set Up Later.
Tick the Enable Ask Siri, click Continue, then select the Language for Siri.
Select a Siri Voice or click Choose for Me.
Skip the setup for Hey Siri by clicking Set Up Hey Siri later.
Skip Improve Siri & Dictation by selecting Not Now, then click Continue.
Skip Touch ID configuration by selecting Setup Touch ID Later.
Select an appearance then click Continue.
Setup is now completed and Mac is ready to use.
